Our Commitment
Avon Eye Care is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all people, including those with disabilities. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We continually work to improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards to ensure we provide equal access to all users.
Measures We Have Taken
To ensure accessibility, we have implemented the following measures across our website:
Keyboard Navigation
All interactive elements, including navigation menus, forms, buttons, and links, are fully accessible via keyboard. Visible focus indicators are provided for all focusable elements.
Screen Reader Support
We use semantic HTML, ARIA landmarks, and descriptive labels to ensure our content is properly conveyed by assistive technologies such as screen readers.
Color Contrast
Text and interactive elements meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratio requirements (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text) to ensure readability for users with low vision or color deficiencies.
Alternative Text
All meaningful images include descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are marked appropriately so they are ignored by assistive technologies.
Reduced Motion
Animations and transitions respect the user's system preference for reduced motion, ensuring a comfortable experience for users sensitive to movement.
Form Accessibility
All form fields have associated visible labels, clear instructions, and appropriate error messaging. Required fields are clearly indicated.
Additional Accessibility Features
- Skip-to-content link allows keyboard users to bypass repetitive navigation
- Proper heading hierarchy (h1 through h6) for clear document structure
- ARIA roles and labels on interactive components such as navigation menus and modal dialogs
- Focus trapping in modal overlays with Escape key support to close
- Responsive design that adapts to different screen sizes and zoom levels up to 200%
- Links are distinguishable from surrounding text and have descriptive labels
Third-Party Content
Our website may include third-party content or integrations (such as embedded maps, scheduling widgets, or social media feeds) that are outside our direct control. While we strive to work with partners who share our commitment to accessibility, we cannot guarantee the accessibility of third-party content.
If you encounter accessibility issues with any third-party feature on our site, please contact us and we will do our best to provide an alternative means of accessing the information or service.
Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts, some content may not yet fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA standards. We are actively working to identify and resolve any remaining issues. Known areas of ongoing improvement include:
- Some older PDF documents may not be fully accessible; contact us for alternative formats
- Third-party embedded widgets may have their own accessibility limitations
